For organizations

Make your leaders the ones people never forget

A keynote, a workshop, or a full mentoring program, built on the research behind The Best Boss Effect.

We studied 971 accounts of the best boss people ever had and found what those leaders did differently. Your people take the assessment, get their own development report, and work the six tensions in a private journal, with a mentor or a facilitator alongside them.

Keynote

How to become the positive leader people never forget

What 971 people revealed about the bosses they never forgot, and the people-first behaviors that set them apart. For leadership summits, conferences, and all-hands events. 45 to 60 minutes.

Workshop

Where You Lean, and What to Do About It

An interactive workshop built around the Best Boss Leadership Assessment™. Participants complete the assessment in advance and arrive with their own leadership profile. Together we work through where each person leans on the six tensions, what that costs them and their team, and what to practice instead. Everyone leaves with a 30-day plan and the app to work it in. For cohorts of 15 to 40.

Mentoring program

Mentoring that has somewhere to go

Most mentoring programs match people and hope. Pairs meet twice, run out of things to talk about, and quietly stop. The Best Boss Effect gives every pair a shared agenda: the mentee's own leadership report, the book's practices, a 30-day cycle, and a private journal the mentor can read.

  • Everyone takes the assessment. Each participant gets their full Leadership Development Report: where they lean on the foundation and the six tensions, and which chapters of the book are theirs.
  • Each pair gets a structure. The mentee commits to one tension for 30 days, tries the book's practices, and writes down what happened. The mentor reads what the mentee chooses to share and leaves notes where the work is.
  • Every 90 days, a review. The app reads the mentee's own words back to them in the book's terms and suggests what to work on next. It is the agenda for the next conversation.
  • You see whether it is working. A program dashboard shows participation, pair activity, and the cohort's development priorities, without exposing anyone's journal.
  • Your word, not ours. If your program calls them mentors, sponsors, or advisors, the app uses your word throughout.

What you see, and what you don't

This is the part we get asked about first, so here it is plainly.

You see activity. Who is participating, how often each pair is engaging, which pairs have gone quiet, and how the cohort as a whole is developing. Enough to run the program, intervene where a pair has stalled, and show a return on the investment.

You never see content. Not a participant's journal, their reflections, their results, or their mentor's notes. Not for anyone, at any level, including you. Group figures are never shown for fewer than five people.

Participants are told exactly this before they join. It is why they write honestly, and honest writing is the only thing that makes the program work.
